Book Notes: The Banned Bookshop of Maggie Banks

Books about bookstores, books and reading always intrigue me and when I saw that Shauna Robinson had followed up her debut novel, Must Love Books, with The Banned Bookshop of Maggie Banks, I couldn’t wait to start it!

Maggie Banks doesn’t know what to do with her life. After moving around from job to job in the San Francisco area and ending up back at home following her latest failure, she jumps at the chance to help out her friend in the small town of Bell River. Her college roommate, Rochelle, needs someone to look after her bookstore for a few months while she goes on maternity leave. What Maggie doesn’t know is that Bell River is a tourist destination celebrating the author Edward Bell, and Cobblestone Books only sells books that Edward Bell would have likely read.
