About the Author
Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) was an American poet and writer. Raised in New England by her transcendentalist parents, she grew up among well-known intellectuals, such as Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. She is best known as the author of Little Women.
