Susan Cain, author of Quiet

ParentMap's Lecture Series welcomes Susan Cain presenting her talk entitled "Quiet Kids: Raising an Introvert in a World That Won't Stop Talking."

Susan Cain has sparked a national conversation about introverts, who comprise a third to a half of every classroom and workplace. Her book, Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking, was an instant New York Times bestseller and one of the most talked-about books of 2012. Cain’s TED talk smashed a first-week record with over one million views.

In this unique lecture, Cain will focus on the special qualities of quiet kids, how they are often misunderstood and undervalued. Parents and educators will take away fascinating ideas to help them meet their potential.

This ticketed event takes place at Mercer Island High School. Admission is $10 for Mercer Island PTA members and $20 for non-members; tickets are available in advance (cash or check only) at Island Books.
